Writing Made Easy

Everyone struggles teaching a wide range of writers, and teaching students to write in a different genre makes it even more challenging. Teaching students to write journalistically is something we have to do—we can’t just expect our students to figure it out without guidance. Over the past year, it became apparent that the best way to teach writing is through teaching them how to read. They need to know what journalists do and recognize that as they read, and through this tactic, they will begin to model their own writing after who they are reading. Use this presentation to help get you started with showing students how to become better readers and thus better writers.
